When corruption filled creation, When the sins of men were great.
From that evil generation, God through water rescued eight.
Earth brought forth her deepest fountains. Heaven’s windows opened wide.
Eight were borne above the mountains, Carried on a cleansing tide.
Filled with fear and desperation, Trapped upon the Red Sea strand,
Israel saw the Lord’s salvation, For the deep became dry land.
Walls of water rose around them, As they walked amid the sea.
Foes pursued, but waters drowned them, Making all of Israel free.
Look, The waters of salvation. Where God rescues men today,
Waters of regeneration, Where all sins are washed away.
Sinners, buried in those waters, Finding mercy deep and broad,
Rise anew His sons and daughters, Dead to sin. Alive to God.
